Challenges are only increasing for solution providers in assisting customers with keeping track of a growing number of sustainability metrics their businesses require.

And that’s why the timing of new features in EcoStruxure IT’s DCIM software is more compelling than ever.

These new features aim to ease data center energy performance tracking. They leverage Schneider Electric’s expertise to offer intuitive, model-based reporting tools, align with stringent regulatory demands, and improve data center sustainability.

“By 2027, 80 percent of CIOs will have performance metrics tied to the sustainability of the IT organization,” Gartner said in a recent study.

The rub: the same study found only 43 percent of executives know their IT footprint.

And, as the saying goes, if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.

That’s why Schneider Electric’s newest advances in Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software are essential to understand. Kevin Brown, Senior Vice President, EcoStruxure Solutions, Secure Power Division of Schneider Electric, put it this way in a recent post:

“I am thrilled to introduce new model-based, automated sustainability reporting features within our award-winning EcoStruxure IT DCIM software. Starting in April, all EcoStruxure IT users will have access to a new set of reporting capabilities, which traditionally had required deep technical understanding and manual data calculation methods.”

DCIM is deployed for solution providers’ data-center customers to zero in on energy use, emissions, and water use, in addition to specific other regulatory tracking requirements and standards.

Now, with EcoStruxure IT, the tracking process requires less-intensive work due to automation. The software also allows for the ability to monitor data in real time and compare it with historical numbers, which can significantly boost efficiency. It helps an organization meet regulatory requirements and will improve the overall insight an organization has on its data center operations.

For solution providers who work with customers to deploy solutions like EcoStruxure IT’s DCIM software, the benefits are significant.

“Positive outcomes include enhancing resilience, maximizing value from data, attracting and retaining talent, achieving ESG goals, driving growth, and accelerating digital business,” Gartner said in its study.
